Eastman Chemical Co. is a $9.1 billion global specialty chemical company. Eastman had long been engaged in one-off sustainability initiatives but had never shared its full story. Eastman engaged Reputation Partners first in 2009 to raise the company’s sustainability visibility and profile to key stakeholders. Our focus included helping them create their first-ever sustainability report, as well as helping them promote their sustainability efforts externally through media relations, speaking opportunities and awards. Through RP’s efforts, Eastman launched its first-ever sustainability report in June 2010, which outlined how the company creates value through environmental stewardship, social responsibility and economic growth.
Following its success, RP worked with Eastman to develop and distribute its 2011 sustainability report, first-ever GRI G3-compliant supplement in 2012, 2013 sustainability progress update, and 2014 sustainability report. Additionally, since mid-2012, RP has secured 25+ articles or interviews in top sustainability, chemical or vertical trade publications (Environmental Leader, Chemical Week sustainability cover story, GreenBiz, among others), and 16+ sustainability speaking /award opportunities (ChemInnovations, BusinessGreen Leaders Award, Sustainable Innovations, EcoChem, among others).
