What’s your favorite part of your job?
Bending my mind to think in new ways and see situations from different perspectives. Being a successful communicator is all about avoiding tunnel vision. I’m constantly seeking new and creative ways to look at ideas and messages from a fresh point of view, as well as challenging myself to think outside the box about seemingly ordinary topics.
If you could have dinner with a famous person (past or present) who would it be and why?
Jack White. Aside from being a musical mastermind, he just seems like the coolest guy on the planet. He recently went digital after years of preaching about the value of producing and recording music the “real” way, so I’d love to hear how even he chose to embrace new technology. And he’s from Detroit, which automatically makes him one of the coolest people ever.
What’s something people are always surprised to find out about you?
I’m not a big fan of going to the movies. I’d rather watch them at home where I can wear sweatpants, laugh or cry as loud as I want, have unlimited snacks on hand, and not feel guilty for falling asleep.
