Eastman is a global specialty materials company that is working to help solve the world’s biggest problems and stimulate a circular economy.

Key Highlights:

  • Helped create the company’s first-ever sustainability report
  • Executed a multi-faceted, ongoing PR program incorporating media relations, speaking and award opportunities, and stakeholder engagement to raise the company’s sustainability visibility and profile among key stakeholders

Eastman is a $9.1 billion global specialty chemical company. Eastman had long been engaged in one-off sustainability initiatives but had never shared its full story. Eastman engaged Reputation Partners to raise the company’s sustainability visibility and profile to key stakeholders. Our focus included helping them create their first-ever sustainability report, as well as helping them promote their sustainability efforts externally through media relations, speaking opportunities and awards.

To position Eastman as an innovative company leveraging sustainability to drive business growth, our team extensively analyzed data to gain a holistic understanding of company sustainability efforts. Our team worked with Eastman to compile, write and distribute its 2011 sustainability report, first-ever GRI G3-compliant supplement in 2012, 2013 sustainability progress update, and 2014 sustainability report.

The team also executed a multi-faceted ongoing sustainability PR program, including media relations, speaking and awards/rankings and provided counsel on stakeholder engagement (NGOs, customers and analysts).

Through our efforts, Eastman launched its first-ever sustainability report, which outlined how the company creates value through environmental stewardship, social responsibility and economic growth. Additionally, our team secured more than 16 sustainability speaking/award opportunities (ChemInnovations, BusinessGreen Leaders Award, Sustainable Innovations, EcoChem, among others) and more than 25 articles or interviews in top sustainability, chemical or vertical trade publications, including:
