Data firm Cambridge Analytica has recently been in the headlines following a raid on the company’s London office by UK authorities amid allegations that it illicitly secured personal information on millions of Facebook users.
The Wall Street Journal featured the crisis and the company’s responses in the weeks following the raid in one of its recent “Crisis of the Week” columns. RP’s Nick Kalm was tapped for expert source commentary on Cambridge Analytica’s crisis response.
“While the factual responses Cambridge Analytica gave on each issue were solid, they fell short of addressing the potential root causes and missed the big picture. Whenever an organization is confronted by a series of related issues–each one questioning its ethics–it needs to step back and address them holistically, rather than attempt to handle them as one-off events,” Kalm said.
